A Black Rose: Campaign for Awareness
What is the Campaign?
For too long, not enough has been done to protect the fighting men and women in our Armed Forces. It's time for us to show the nation that the brave people giving their lives for us shouldn't have to worry about being abused, harassed, stalked, or raped. These atrocities have gone on for years and have been brushed aside.
That's why we've started the Black Rose campaign, a public and clear message to draw attention to this issue. Between now and Memorial Day we invite any servicemen and women who have been victims of abuse to request one black rose and a white rose wreath that will be placed, on Memorial Day. |

Each rose will be laid, one by one, with each person's name (or number, if they choose to remain anonymous) being read aloud.
More information is available here. Be sure to check the blog and/or our Facebook page for the newest updates.
What do the Roses Symbolize?
Each black rose symbolizes one person who suffered abuse during their service. In contrast, each black rose will be presented along with a white rose. We hope to bring change through the improvement of abuse prevention in the military so that no one has to suffer the horrors of abuse.
Share Your Story
One of our main goals is to provide a place for people who have experienced abuse or harassment in the military to speak out about their ordeal. This site will give you the opportunity to have a rose dedicated to you. Every year on Memorial Day, we will personally take each rose and lay it on a special location.
However, our biggest concern is your privacy. That's why you have the option of sharing only the information you feel comfortable sharing and you may choose to remain completely anonymous. In that case, your rose will be labeled with your visitor number.
