Female troops serving in the Iraq war are reporting an insidious enemy in their own camps: fellow American soldiers who sexually assault them. At least 37 women service members have sought sexual-trauma counseling and other assistance from civilian rape crisis organizations after returning from war duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and other overseas stations, according to victims' advocates. The women, ranging from enlisted soldiers to officers, have reported poor medical treatment, lack of counseling, and incomplete criminal investigations by military officials. Some say they were threatened with punishment after reporting assaults. Others — fearing humiliation, ostracization, or official retaliation — have kept silent.

There is nothing more frustrating that clothing your eyes an having images of the monsters of your past coming to get you. Or that you feel so guilty or ashamed that you can't speak about the things that happend to you, the things that are killing your soul slowly.  I'm here to tell you: speak up my military sister, speak up they can't hurt you anymore. And if you can't I'm here to be your voice, to yell enough. We train with these men side-by-side. We did not ask for preferences because we are females, we were one of "them". So how is it possible that your friend, your peer, your brother-in-arms is capable of doing so many horrific things to us, and what makes the high ranking individuals that are supposed to protect us cover it all so their military doesn't look bad. If you need to talk, if you need to cry, if you need to vent here we are just for you.
