Hello my friends,
I have being trying to find a way to get our organization a non tax status.But the true is that we are short of donations. We need 370.00 dollars just to file for the status with the IRS. While we get there I hope that everyone pass the word around, of our website. You never know if you have a friend that is suffering in silence.

Olga,
I once started a 501c-3 and knew nothing of tax law, 'am not a lawyer. I was able to find attorneys who helped out pro bono (no charge), because they saw the value of the organizaton I was setting up. I received similar help in incorporating in my state. I found these attorneys through various existing non profits in my area working on poor peoples and civil rights issues. You can too. Identify a few such organizartions and get to know some of the people who work there. Volunteer to work for them. Attend some of their functions, attend any demonstrations they have that you support. Do this even if you don't want pro-bono help.
One good piece of advise I remember was that I go to the nearest U.S. Treasury Office and meet with officials there and explain to them what you want to do. There was no charge from the U.S. Government then (and I would be surprised if there is now) as I recall, certainly not $370. They will give you the forms you need at no charge (at least there was none then).
If I remember, I needed my state Articles of Incorporation (I think there might have been a little fee at the state for filiing those, which I wrote myself but with the consultation of one of the attornies mentioned.
The state articles required a Board of Directors and a Resident Agent. That means a total of 4 volunteers including yourself to get started. This might vary a little by state.
Find 3 others with similar sentiments who know a bit of Roberts Rules.
