Clearly the military does not do enough for the men and women who survive these incidents; instead, they take the easy, immoral way out and cast aside victims. I was raped while serving in the Navy, by a fellow Sailor. The reporting process was brutal - there is no better word. It was like being kicked when I was already down, by the organization that was supposed to protect me. I did not have enough support to testify at court martial and have my name dragged through the mud again, so the man who assaulted me is still in the military and received no punishment or counseling. That thought refuses to leave my mind. I'm moving on, healing is all I can focus on at this point.
